we, urs noser and eugen lötschertwo Zurich-based artist and make ursundeugen the team.ch our work in the field of visual art.

ursundeugen begins with a mutual look. with curiosity. with the feeling that something is not quite right. we, eugen lötscher and urs noser, met us in the group exhibitions, in different contexts, with their own work. what remained was the interest in the work of the other.

the idea to work together, was first, just a thought. he remained, matured, came back. a few months later, he took on the form. then everything went fast. we realized, that we think alike, similar in feel, similar to work. there are no explanations needed, just the beginning.

freedom, collaboration, and appreciation are the Foundation of our cooperation. not as a program but as an attitude. we begin spontaneously, often on small sizes of 30 × 30 cm. wherever we are. on the train, in a restaurant, at exhibitions, at home. if it grabs us, we keep a record of. the tools of the moment, are there, too.

in parallel, larger worlds on canvas in the format of 130 × 130 cm. the pictures are moving between us. they change, they become more worn, reworked, questioned. nothing is finished, everything remains open for the next step.

we also work together with other artists. sometimes it is, sometimes. both are part of it. much of it comes in the conversation. in sit together. in thinking, doubt, discard and start over.

our cooperation is not an addition. she is a multiplication. of ideas, power, joy and inspiration. we work without compromise, but with respect. without control, but with confidence. the freedom that we take, we give more.

and always, the fun is there. the joy of the do. the playful, the child, the serious. sometimes we laugh, sometimes we work highly concentrated. both are equally important.

ursundeugen is not a state but a process. a common go. an open work. with the conviction that attention, freedom and mutual respect, which are more than the sum of its parts.

we want to create spaces where freedom is not a foreign word, between people, materials and meanings.
